Our Story
It started in 2024, when our founder—then an international student himself—arrived in Toronto with nowhere to stay. He had been scammed by a fake listing online and spent his first week in an expensive hotel.
He realized the rental market was broken for students, especially those coming from abroad. Lack of trust, no way to verify landlords, and the difficulty of finding compatible roommates made the process a nightmare.
So, he built AccomoDATE. A platform that prioritizes safety, transparency, and community.
